Gemma Browne is an Irish artist born in London and based in Dublin. She has exhibited widely in Ireland and internationally and has received many awards including from The Arts Council of Ireland. SOCIAL ART WORK AND PROJECTS

Artists in Prisons Scheme, The Arts Council, at Dochas Womens' Detention Centre, Mountjoy Prison
Artists in Prisons Scheme, The Arts Council, with young offenders, Wheatfield Prison
Ongoing work at Portlaoise Prison with Brian Maguire and Robert Armstrong for NCAD
Worked with group of older, retired women for a year at a local hall on the South Circular Road, painting, drawing and discussion.
Drew and painted 40ft, hoardings with children in Rutland Street School , North Inner City, where I was in residence for six weeks. These were installed around the Spire on O Connell street during construction. With the Hugh Lane.
I did art projects for schools in Ballymun, Beaumont, Clontarf and Ballinteer and projects at a local boxing club in Pearse Street and the Corporation flats in Ballybough with mothers and children.
